The Day of New Friendships - Day 3

The Day of New Friendships - Day 3

Nicola's Friend

Dan's Friend
Day 3 was supposed to start with an early morning, to prepare us for the impending 8am starts, but that didn't quite happen. By the time we rose it was already afternoon, 12.15pm to be precise. So not quite the early morning rise we were planning on. I think we needed it though, as I think we're now over any jetlag that remained, or that's the excuse I'm going with anyway. When we finally got up we were greeted by another beautiful sunny day, and after crawling out of bed we headed directly   poolside. We had a good few minutes of book reading and sun soaking, a quick dip in the pool and then headed in for breakfast/lunch. A nice relaxing start to the day.

After enjoying a big lunch to make up for sleeping through breakfast we did some much needed washing of clothes, before heading up to Tiger Muay Thai's reception area to purchase our new gear ahead of training tomorrow. In the end it cost us around £200 for all our gear, which included a pair of 16oz Fairtex gloves, some shin guards and a t-shirt each, so not too bad really.

After a warm walk back to the hotel we decided we needed another dip in the pool. The sun had gone in a little, but it was still nice and warm. Nicola was finally persuaded to have a swim, and this is where she met her new friend for the day. As we frolicked around in the pool doing a few lengths we noticed we had a very small audience which came in the shape of the little girl in the picture above. Nicola, being Nicola immediately began waving at the girl, only to receive a blank expression in response. This didn't deter her though, she was very keen to make friends, so decided to swim closer and say Hello. After saying Hello, she again received no answer. With 1 final attempt she gave the wave another go, and by some miracle got a response, and a wave back, and that was it, friends made. The new friends can be seen posing together below...

Friends at last
After Nicola's friend was taken away by her mean parents I finally regained her attention. We then proceeded to mess around with the waterproof camera trying to get good pictures of each other underwater. Attempts to take pictures of the pair of us together underwater didn't go to plan, so we ended up having to stick to taking them of each other. We did manage to get a few good action shots, one of me doing a handstand, one of Nicola in a Buddha pose, one of Nicola on my shoulders and after many attempts one of me diving into the pool. We felt very cool.

The Dive
After the pool we had a little chill before getting ready to head out to tea. It was a short journey to the hotel restaurant once more, this time for an Italian. We shared 3 dishes, a margarita pizza, spaghetti Bolognese and fried potatoes in onions and garlic. It was delicious once more, the hotel restaurant has been superb so far, been very impressed, would happily eat there every day! During our meal I got to make friends also. Despite Mum's advice about avoiding touching any dogs, I couldn't help but make friends. He stared into my eyes desperately asking for some Pizza. I didn't feed him Pizza, but I did give him a cheeky stroke, and he happily decided to lay down next to my chair. I wanted to keep him and bring him home, but Nicola wouldn't let me. Here's me and my little friend at Dinner:

Tomorrow we kick off our training, an early start for Nicola, kicking off with Yoga at 7am, Body Fit at 8 and I start with MMA at 9. Busy times tomorrow!
